A functional takedown lever enables it to be taken apart in the same way too, and the ambidextrous magazine release and safety make it easy to use straight out of the box.

The XD-E comes with a fixed two-dot rear sight and windage-adjustable red fibre optic front sight, to deliver shots with increased accuracy. It also features an under-muzzle single-slot Picatinny accessory rail so users can add items such as lasers and lights. Replicated grip zone texturing from the firearm version combines with the front and rear slide serrations to enhance convenience, comfort and control.
