MediHerb Echinacea Premium — Cold Relief with Alkylamide Respiratory Defence


MediHerb® Echinacea Premium combines standardised extracts of Echinacea angustifolia and Echinacea purpurea to support healthy lymphatic and immune system functions. This clinical formulation utilises the synergistic interaction between 2,4-diene and 2-ene alkylamides to ensure optimal bioavailability. The 2-ene alkylamides play a critical role in stabilising the active 2,4-dienes against rapid degradation by hepatic cytochrome P450 enzymes. Regular administration helps reduce the severity and duration of upper respiratory tract symptoms associated with the common cold.



Alkylamides are the clinically active constituents of Echinacea and key markers of product quality and activity. MediHerb Echinacea products are labelled with their total alkylamide content.


The immune-active 2,4-diene alkylamides – found in both E. angustifolia and E. purpurea – are rapidly degraded by hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes unless stabilised by 2-ene alkylamides. The 2-ene alkylamides are an important marker of quality and occur predominantly in E. angustifolia. The combination of both types of alkylamides in MediHerb Echinacea Premium results in a unique, bioavailable and reliable quality product.
