The Hi-5 takes a different approach — its CAN/RS485 communication and BMS protocols are designed to talk to the widest possible range of hybrid inverters, including Victron, Luxpower, Deye, Sunsynk, Voltronic, SMA, Goodwe, Growatt, Sofar, SRNE, and Must (per manufacturer documentation — confirm specific firmware versions with your installer). Each unit delivers 5.12kWh of usable energy at 51.2V nominal and 100Ah, with a 1C charge/discharge rating meaning it can charge or discharge at its full rated capacity (100A continuous) without thermal throttling. Peak discharge handles 105A for 15 seconds and 120A for half a second — useful for motor in-rush currents from pumps, compressors and similar surge loads. The chemistry is LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) — the thermal-stable, long-cycle chemistry that's become the standard for residential and commercial energy storage in South Africa.
