PRODUCT DESCRIPTION


Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by the formation senile plaques and neurofibrillary tangles that leads to progressive neuronal degeneration and death. This is mostly due to amyloid deposition, reduced cholinergic activity and neurotoxic phosphorylation and oxidation. Vascular dementia is due to cerebrovascular disease with cerebral ischaemia and a cascade of neurotoxic events leading to atrophy of white matter and mircoinfarts in grey matter.  


Mind-Xtra by Panaxea is a powerful nootropic and cognitive enhancing formula that improves memory, thinking and behavioural functions in patients with Alzheimer's disease and vascular Dementia. The carefully selected ingredients in this combination medicine have been shown to increase Ach levels, exhibit direct anti-amyloid activity, enhance cerebral perfusion and anti-oxidant activity, ameliorate neurotoxicity and stimulate neurotrophic growth factors. In separate clinical trials on both AD & VD, ingredients have shown significant improvement dementia scores and quality of life.

 

A increases norepinephrine, dopamine and acetylcholine levels (but not serotonin). Green Tea extract (EGCG) has also been shown to protect the hippocampus structures from stress-associated neuro-exitotoxicty, and may aid in memory formation and access.
