The FX Impact Integrated Harmonic Barrel Tuner Shroud 700mm gives you the opportunity to harmonically tune your barrel perfectly and gain new heights of accuracy. This will change your tuning process and give you a level of precision control never before available to an airgun. This tuner comes with three threaded ends customized for different calibres: .177/.22, .25, and .30, that let’s you add a sound moderator.
This means you can alter the oscillating movement of the barrel. By changing this vibration frequency, you’ll improve the accuracy significantly. Previously, this could only be done indirectly by experimenting with the velocity of the pellets or slugs. Now, however, with the FX Barrel Tuner Shroud, the barrel itself can be tuned.
There are no exact calculations to tune a barrel harmonically, but the FX Barrel Tuner Shroud lets you alter the oscillating movement to be in perfect balance with the pellet or slug of your choice. The shroud -which has a dampening function of its own- features an adjustable weight at the muzzle end. This weight can be varied in position by turning it.
This is an empirical process, where you’ll find the sweet spot where the groups get really small by just trying step by step. When you get really tight grouping, it’s a sign the barrel harmonics are in tune with the chosen projectile. The marks on the FX Barrel Tuner Shroud help you to find back your favorite adjustment.
Made from a specifically selected alloy, the running weight has enough mass to affect the weight distribution of the overall barrel system. Even the smallest amount of rotating adjustment of the tuner weight, by only a few thousands of an inch, can change how your gun shoots groups. Especially when shooting medium to long range distances.
